  1. Severe Injury is any one of the following criteria: hypotension; urgent interventions in the trauma room (airway control, chest tube, transfusion, diagnostic peritoneal lavage, central venous catheter or venous cutdown); transfer to ICU or OR; and an ISS > 5.
